2019: Ready, Set, Play!
It's 2019 and time is just whizzing by! As we prepare for students to return to classrooms and therapy sessions, now seems like a good time to share my latest and greatest finds. 2018 was a FABULOUS year for wonderful new videos to use for social learning - check these out before you go back in to your sessions! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1PHeL3XnRGiaEAx8uX68TRmgymU8Mh142
Last November I had the opportunity to visit the RCAD - Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. It was wonderful to explore the various departments whose students contribute so much to our field through their video creations. Their productions, often less than 4 minutes in length, take hundreds of hours of commitment and creativity. Thanks much to Jim Campbell, Department Head, Computer Animation and Ed Cheetham, Department Head, Department of Motion Design for your time and for sharing your ideas about using videos with students who have social learning challenges.
One of the great things I love about the work we do is the opportunity to combine materials in new and interesting ways. Curious about how media can be used in conjunction with many of the products developed by Michelle Winner and her team at Social Thinking? In my article for them last month I had lots of suggestions - here's the link if you haven't already read it: https://www.socialthinking.com/Articles?name=Play-Pause-Learn-Media-as-Social-Emotional-Learning-Material
