Step Into My Sessions: Loving painter’s tape!
🎨 Tip of the week: Painter’s Tape!! I use it in lots of different ways: marking play zones on the carpet 🧩, putting my own work up on the walls to organize myself, identifying race courses on the floor 🏁, and more. A while back, I realized the critical role that painter’s tape can play in tabletop games 🎲.
Often, my students seem to need help remembering the direction of play 🔄. Which way are we going? Whose turn is it now? 🤔 Sometimes I feel like I am running the game 🏃 – not conducive to independent peer play.
One session, I realized that if I marked the direction of play with tape, I didn’t need to tell players what to do – they could see for themselves 👀 which way to pass the dice, cards, and turns 🎲🃏. Ta-da!! Another step toward independence for my players.
Did you know that painter’s tape comes in varying widths and colors? 🎨✨ No need to stick with just that blue color anymore...
